Two Steps From Hell

When I heard it the first time... no words... Just beautiful...
Two Steps From Hell are a choir wich uses drums, electric guitar and metal instruments. It's considered as a metal symphonic "band".
This unique band just does short songs for trailers. They reached successfuly the fame in trailers business. They did the songs for trailers such as "Jumper", "Spiderman 3", "Up", "Twilight", "New Moon", "Wall-E", "The Mummy", "Sweeney Todd", "2012", "Beowulf" and "Prince of Persia".
My favourite songs are "Mercy in Darkness" and "False King"... Simply amazing...
This taste of music turned automatically my favourite! =) Sadly they don't sell CD's =( but the official and some fan sites are saying they are preparing launching some CD's we can purchase! *.*

Art of Motion

Yesterday I posted childish posts (I'm evil! xD), so now I will post a serious one =) well, an hard one xD a critical appraisal text about an album xP "what? a critical appraisal text isn't difficult!"... it is easy... but for you xD And what album would I chose to post on my blog? "Art of Motion" of Andy Mckee! =D An amazing album... forget the voice and lyrics: just guitar and tabs. First of all, I ought to thank my guitar teacher for giving me this album =D and autographed by the own Andy Mckee! *.* thank you thank you thank you! =P
This album has 12 tracks and it was recorded and released in 2005 by the label Candyrat Records (that label records also Antoine Dufour albums and other excellent musicians).
Before start 'talking' about the album, I must say a few words before. Andy is thirty years old, he started playing the guitar when he was 13 (wow! O.O) and he only had one year and half of electric guitar lessons. My God, he is an animal... no, a monster... wait, what describe is development better is... beast! *.*
In this simple album we can hear guitar songs, all made by Andy, with fingerstyle technique.
The image of the album is all relative with painting. In fact, it fits with the name of te album "Art of Motion", because in the back of the album there is a painting of Andy playing his harpguitar, which makes us think about movement, in other words motion, when we imagine he is playing.
Another great idea to make this album even better was, in the liner notes, write all the story behind each piece. Thus, instead of listening and memorize the songs, we listen and then we try to understand the feelings of Andy when he wrote each song. Believe me, is an incredible experience. Hapiness and sadness... Movement and experience... we almost can feel it and understand what he got through in a little piece of his life. After all, that's the point of this album.

Tracklist:
1 - Art of Motion
2 - When She Cries
3 - Drifting
4 - For My Father
5 - Practice Is Perfect
6 - Shanghai
7 - Into The Ocean
8 - Nocturne
9 - Heather's Song
10- Samus' Stardrive
11- Keys To The Hovercar
12- Rylynn

What gave more success to Andy an be famous on youtube were the videos which he was playing "Drifting", "Rylynn" and "Into The Ocean". His songs are extremely hard to play, but I can play the beggining of "Drifting" and the first 2:13 time of "Rylynn" ^.^ but soon I will learn "Practice is Perfect", because is my favourite song of this album.
In my opinion, this is an excellent album to all who want to improve guitar skills or that love this type of music: fingerstyle.
Here I let a very simple movie I made with the song "Practice is Perfect". I searched on youtube, but the only film with this song was about a crochet project... So I decided to do one on movie maker with Andy pics xP pics placed randomly xD Enjoy!

You can also visit his official website on www.andymckee.com, which as his forum and upcoming shows.
Also, go to http://www.myspace.com/andymckee2 where you can find funny pics and information about his life xP

When I saw Andy Mckee for the first time on youtube, he automatically became an idol to me. Today, he isn't an idol anymore... he is an hero! Thanks Andy for all your love and music! Keep playing buddy! One entire generation is applauding you and blessing your work! =P

Bryant Oden and the Duck

My god... the lyrics made by Bryant Oden are so silly and funny! He also did 'The Turkey Song' xD now I discovered an animation of "The Duck Song" xD pretty cool! xD But I didn't deleted the last post because it has the lyrics of the song xP

I also discovered the other song of the duck xD also animated. Enjoy! xD

The Duck Song

I've got nothing to do, so I will fill up my blog with stupid and funny songs xD
another one related to a duck, grapes and lemonade xD enjoy!

I Gotta Feeling (Hangover)

Another funny song related with the new single of the Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" xD this one made by the college humor and it's very very humorous xP enjoy!

The Turkey Song

Well, in the 26th November, in the USA, was thanksgiving day... I didn't remember (sorry!) so today I will post something related with thanksgiving and music.
We all know it's a day to express our happiness, friendship, love, etc. We all think we are enjoying the event! But there is an animal which is the only one is completly screwed up in this time of the calender: the turkey! =( and there it is! a song very popular which talks precisely about that xD and think a bit... it wouldn't be better eat carrots instead of the poor turkey? xD just kidding!
p.s.: read fast, ok? xD the lyrics are faster than the song xP

Toccata & Fugue in D minor

This is probably the classical piece I like most. Is from Bach and is played in church (church is the name of the instrument... is also called as pipe organ). This is an excellent interpretation of Kurt Ison in the Sydney Town Hall and it shows the power of the music in the XVII century. Simply amazing. He plays with hands and foots! O.O Probably you have already listen this song xP this is a big clip, so just see it if you have already done all the homework from shcool xP enjoy!

Antoine Dufour

Last week I discovered the name of the guitar player of my "4 hands guitar playing" post in my blog xP He's called Antoine Dufour, he is French-Canadian and is simply amazing... he is completely recognizable with his red bandana tied around the end of his acoustic guitar's neck above the nut. xD
His technique is completly supernatural... doing all those hard harmonics... but his creativity is a little bit under of Andy Mckee. I hope in holidays show you more songs of his own =) enjoy 'development'! one of the songs I like most =P

Hallelujah

No, it's not 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen which we all listened in Shrek movies xD This one is a completely different 'Hallelujah' made by Paramore.
Who don't know Paramore songs? This band started its career around 2002, and now is formed by the 'pretty orange haired girl' Hayley Williams (vocals), the Farro brothers, Josh (guitar solos and vocals) and Zac (drums), Jeremy Davis (bass) and Taylor York (guitar). This incredible band, which launched its third album 'Brand New Eyes', have already won several awards, including International Artist, Rock Group and Sexiest Female =P
Despite I started hearing this song about two weeks ago, 'Hallelujah' is one of the best singles of their second album 'Riot!'. In my last post, I choose a sad song, so in this post I decided to show you an happy song, with hopeful lyrics and curious verses. I searched another clip on the web, and I found this one with the lyrics. I expect you enjoy it! =P

Plane

This weak I would like to show you my favorite song of Jason Mraz: Plane.
I know, it's a sadly song, but I like it any way.
Our well known Jason... He is a young fish in the music sea (32 years old) with a lot of potential to show us in the future =)
This song isn't very listened, but the simplicity of the instruments (just piano, drums, violin and triangle) and the force of the lyrics turn it in a very good song.
About the lyrics, I find it a kind of metaphorical, all about someone you are away from and you love, but the relationship doesn't work as you would like to be.
I found this video with the lyrics of the song made by Zoast in the youtube. Just another simple video with lyrics made by someone when he had nothing to do. Sorry about that bar in the screen all the video =S Enjoy! =)

Aux Arbres Citoyen

I heard this song probably 3 years ago in MCM channel and I quite liked it xD It was made by Yannick Noah, an ex-tenist and and also a very active person in charity work (he created two associations for underprivileged children) and the song is about environment. The song is in french, but you can understand the essencial it says if you studyed french in school xD In sum, the lyrics says we are on time to change all the injuries we did to our planet (we can balance and reverse it). It talks also a little bit about the importance of water and the chorus focus the simple fact that what we do today makes all difference tomorrow.
The videoclip shows 4 different situations all around the world where the human action is destroying all the natural habitats and cycles. With the attempt of 4 kids to save our actual situation, they promove helping the environment instead of polluting more and develop factorys. Enjoy xP

Tico Tico no Fubá

My first video in the blog which I'm playing ^.^ This song is 100% brazilian and it's called "Tico Tico no Fubá", it was made by Zequinha de Abreu and you probably have already heard it in some advertisements like Tic Tac or Água das Pedras.
In this song I played with my guitar teacher. Also, we changed the chords and the solo parts when we were playing, so in some parts I play the solo and others the chords.

Enjoy! =)

Bu-Lata in 'da' house!!!

they are metallic... they are friends of the environment... their sound is addictive... they want to be recycled... now they are cans, but tomorrow they can be a bike...
they are...
Bu-Lata Som Sistema! xD

who never heard it on tv or at the cinema? xD in my opinion, this public service advertising was one of the bests ever xP giving personalities to the objects, they pretend us to put them in recycle bins, because they want to have another utility. Very well done =)
One of the funniest parts is the song of "Bu-Lata Som Sistema" at the end of the advertisement xD making a fusion of beat box, kuduro and ecology was very very funny xD and everyone who listen will remember the song xP
the lyrics are in portuguese, but I put on the blog any way xD have fun xP

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour

This summer I 'met' an gorgeous danish band: The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.
When I heard it, what surprised me most was the unusual voice of the singer Mette Lindberg... Honestly I can't describe whith certainty her voice... It's a little bit childish but at the same time distorted from we consider regular. When I heard the first time in radio I was curious how they made that type of voice, but for my surprise in youtube I discovered that is her real voice. xD
They just have one album (Fruit) so I expect more fantastic songs from them.
They have 3 singles: "Hero" (which is used in the american drama Gossip Girl), "Around the Bend" (used in an iPod Touch comercial) and "The Sun Ain't Shining No More", which I consider the best song (I like the tune of the voice and the bass line) and I put below the videoclip.

Here I also let you their myspace link http://www.myspace.com/theasteroidsgalaxytour
appreciate! =)

Dance with iPod =P

If you have an iPod, do like Mr. Bean... dance dance dance! xD I discovered this video in youtube... it was made by someone with nick jerrry13157 and I think he made a hilarious ad with the Spice Girls song "Wanna Be" xD and this is a blog about music, so it's related xP put this video in HQ, because in normal quality it makes some brakes ;)

"I'll say you what I want, what I really really want..." LOL =P

That's Life

What kind of person I would be if I didn't post the english project of my group? xD
We chose the song "That's Life" by Frank Sinatra because the lyrics isn't so sadly as the others we like. Also, it was made to make us happy and thinking about what we consider bad luck, just because this sort of things are normal in life, so we must don't give up and continue.
Frank Sinatra was an American singer and actor and he died in 1998 with 82 years old. He recorded more than 50 studio albums and films! 0.0
Here is the movie of our english work. enjoy it! =P
(note: probably you will need to increase the volume)

Gibson Robot Guitar

I saw this video in youtube probably one year ago or more, but when I see it I always say "OMG!!!". It's really a mixture of technology and music... What could be better? xD
Well... It seems to be a dream for guitarists, but for some of them is a nightmare, because they say the tune of a guitarist must be personal and not influenced by a machine or robot.
Here I show you a youtube video of the Gibson Robot Guitar demo with a funny ending xD

Mad World

In english class we had a work to do about music: do a movie related to a song, with images and lyrics, and last week one group showed one music of Gary Jules which I liked a lot. If you don't know, Gary Jules is a 40-year-old singer and songwriter and his famous song is "Mad World", which was a single in December 2003 and was the song that the group talked and presented to the class. This music was also used in a commercial for Gears of War (Xbox 360 video game), in the well known medical drama Dr. House and even in Portugal for "Galp Energia".
The lyrics is about life and its problems, sorrows and chalenges, something everyone does, which makes a beatiful music for all ages. One thing I like also is the way and tune it is played, in a smooth, calm and melodic form accompanied by piano, making us stop, understand and reflect when we listen.
When I saw the videoclip, that's surprised me about is creativity, because at the roof of the school we can see people doing animated pictures, like a face, a car, an animal or a boat in movement, wich some of them are related to the lyrics.
Here's the videoclip and it makes worth the while seeing it ;) enjoy!

If you want to know more about Gary Jules, here is the official site =P

music blog

okay, my first blog xD yey! I decided to do a blog about music, because is something that everyone like and I want to show some news and write about amazing groups. =P here I present you one phenomenon of the guitars... Andy Mckee. He is an idol to me and being a guitarist like him moves me always to continue looking forward in guitar studys... thanks Mckee! =)
